I've spent the last eight years running paid social for ecommerce brands, and the last three of those almost entirely on TikTok. I kept watching brands pay agencies a retainer for videos that never sold anything, so I started HookHouse to do it the other way round.
We only get paid when your products sell. If a month goes badly for you, it goes badly for us too, which is exactly the incentive I would want from an agency.
Do you work with our competitors?
No. We take one brand per category, and we don't take a competing brand while we work with you. We share creators and hooks between clients, so this keeps your playbook yours.
Why don't you charge a monthly fee?
We'd rather be paid when you sell. It also means we only work with brands we think we can grow.
Can you promise how much we'll sell?
No. We can't know how your product will sell until we test it. We can promise to do the work, and we only get paid when sales come in.
How soon will we see sales?
Most brands start seeing regular sales within 4–8 weeks. Then we grow from there.
Who pays the creators?
TikTok takes the creators' share from each sale for you. Our fee is separate, and we send you a bill each month.
What else do we pay for?
Free samples for creators, ads for your best videos, the creators' share of each sale, and TikTok's own fees.
How do you work out our baseline?
We take your average monthly TikTok Shop sales over the three months before we start, and agree it with you in writing. We are only paid on sales above that number, so you keep everything your shop was already making.
We never sell your competitor's products too.
We share creators, hooks and learnings between the brands we work with. So we take one brand per category. If we work with your collagen brand, we won't take another one while we work together.
It also means we can only take on a few brands at a time. When a category is taken, it's taken.
