Who we are
HookHouse Commerce is a trading name of Cortex Growth, a business based in the United Kingdom. We decide how the personal data described here is used, which makes us its "controller" under UK data protection law.
If you have a question about your data, email us at hello@hookhousecommerce.com.
What we collect
When you visit this site: the pages you view, your device and browser details, your IP address, and — if you arrived from an ad — the ad click ID and campaign tags in the link you clicked.
When you book a call: your name, your email address, your answers to the booking questions, and your phone number if you give one for reminders. You book through Calendly, which collects these for us.
How we use it
To hold your call, prepare for it, and follow up afterwards.
To measure which of our ads lead to bookings. When you book, we send Meta a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email address and phone number, plus the ad identifiers from your visit, so Meta can match the booking to the ad. Meta cannot read your email or number from the scrambled copy, but it can match it to a Meta account that uses the same details.
To keep the site working and secure.
Our legal basis
Booking and following up: taking steps you have asked for before a possible contract.
Measurement cookies and the Meta pixel: your consent if you are in the UK or the EU. Elsewhere, our legitimate interest in knowing what our advertising achieves. You can change your choice at any time.
Matching a booking to an ad, and keeping the site secure: our legitimate interests in knowing what our advertising achieves and protecting the site. You can object to this at any time (see "Your rights").
Cookies
If you are in the UK or the EU, we ask first. The Meta pixel and the cookies below stay off unless you accept. Elsewhere they are on unless you turn them off. Either way, you can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
_fbp — set by Meta. Recognises your browser across visits so we can measure our ads. Lasts 90 days.
_fbc — set by Meta only if you arrived from a Meta ad. Stores the ad click ID. Lasts 90 days.
hh_attribution — set by us. Remembers which ad or campaign brought you here, so a later booking is counted against it. Lasts 30 days.
hh_consent — stored in your browser by us. Remembers your cookie choice so we don’t ask again. Kept until you clear your browser data.
The booking calendar is provided by Calendly, which may set its own cookies. See Calendly’s privacy notice.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works the same without them; we just can’t measure our ads.
Who we share it with
Meta Platforms, to measure our ads. Calendly, to run bookings. Cloudflare, which hosts this site and keeps short-lived server logs.
We don’t sell your personal data.
International transfers
Meta, Calendly and Cloudflare may process data in the United States. Where they do, it is protected by the transfer safeguards UK law approves, such as the UK–US data bridge or the UK’s standard contract clauses.
How long we keep it
Booking details: up to two years after your call if we don’t go on to work together. If we do, for as long as our agreement lasts and our legal and accounting records require.
Data held by Meta, Calendly and Cloudflare is kept according to their own policies.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format. You can also object to us using it to measure ads.
Email hello@hookhousecommerce.com. We’ll reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
If you’re in the United States
Some US states give you the right to know what we hold about you, to delete it, and to opt out of it being shared for advertising. Email us and we’ll act on your request, whichever state you’re in.
Children
This site is for businesses. It isn’t meant for anyone under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
